New Ear Wax removal Clinic in Merthyr, Ebbw Vale and Rhymney
![]() Everyone and I mean everyone has earwax! No one is immune, young or old. Our ears need it, our well being benefits from it. Ear wax is 20 to 50 percent fat, and it coats the ear canal to moisturize it, fight off infection, and help to keep dust, dirt, and other debris from getting deep inside your ear. Most people make enough ear wax for the job required, but many of us simply make too much. When our ears become congested with wax it can become painful, our hearing becomes muffled, even our balance can be affected. If we are a hearing aid user quite often earwax can build up in the canal to the point of completely blocking it. Hearing aids don't work very well for people with blocked ear canals. They often feedback (whistle) and the user does not get the full benefit of amplification. Audiology Associates can unblock your ears quickly, safely and gently with our incredible endoscopic microsuction technique. Endoscopic microsuction is far safer than alternative methods, as we have a visual side the ear canal throughout. This process of wax removal is much more gentle procedure than other types of ear wax removal, you can come back far more regularly for treatment, it leaves the ear completely dry. What is Ear Wax Microsuction? Microsuction is the safest, most effective way of cleaning wax build up and any obstruction caused by foreign bodies down the ear canal. The procedure uses a sophisticated endoscope which also provides a magnified light source enabling the delicate structures of the ear canal to be viewed throughout the whole procedure. Ear Wax removal using Microsuction is performed with the aid of an operating microscope and a finely calibrated suction device, without the introduction of any materials or liquids. Microsuction is a very well tolerated by the majority of people, gives you fast results hence it is much more effective than the traditional wax removal methods. It is also SAFE, as our Audiologist can see the structures inside your ear. It is very rare that people may need wax softening with ear products, commonly olive oil, typically though, most clients manage to have their ears cleared in one session without any wax pre-treatment. Please can you send me some details re ear wax removal. My mum lives in Merthyr Tydfil, is 90 years old, with mobility issues. She has a bad build of wax in her ear, and the hospital can't fit her new hearing aid until the wax is removed. Do you have disabled access? Do you have Saturday appointments? Or do you do home visits? Thanks, Sarah
